What’s inside the internet in terms of the volume of pictures is way under-processed and under-exploited that’s why focusing only on this kind of digital asset is a matter of concern. How to get them and turn them into meaningful informational and digital assets of other kinds is a must for the coming reality augmenting technologies and also for better classifying, filtering, and scoring current and ongoing digital assets of any format using pictures as the first and foremost signal.
at Gif…… we start from pictures that are our primary unique input and from them we try to get meaningful results that could be used for other purposes like knowledge and information gathering. along the way, we will try to develop interesting applications and services based on the results of our image processing and analysis stack and share them with internet users like google does with its ranges of solutions coming from its search engines. one of these services could be a search engine tailored to pictures and for these kinds of services we already have one that we will show you in the coming days, months, or years, as we have no visibility on the deadline of this search service based on pictures.
at Gif…… we work on special simple and advanced image processing algorithms and as you may know that a video in its digital format is a sorted sequence of pictures then you may guess that most of our algorithms will work with videos also. We do all of these with augmented virtual reality in mind because that’s where the world is heading with many key tech players like IBM Microsoft, Apple, Google, Facebook, and others startups working on this space of VR and AR. we are not augmenting our perception and capability if we say that At some point in time our range of tech solutions will find their spots in this mix and participate in providing more interesting all digital and phygital experiences to end digital consumers and users.
As vision will be the key component of coming tech solutions and even more in e-commerce and retail, what insights could we get from visual things is a key question that could help design performing vision-based technologies and at Gif…… we are trying to answer this question with our actual knowledge and skills that we are constantly improving along the way executing our vision about the place of pictures in the actual and future digital mix because we, at Gif……, seek to be a learning organization highly reactive to changes in technical and competitive environments.
Gif…… is not about Instagram, nor about Snapchat, or any other gif-sharing platforms but about developing a profoundly impacting technology based on pictures and consequently on vision because we believe vision technology will be the most important part of our future world like how vision is important for any kind of organization like Gif…… or leader like you.
developing this picture-based technology, we have already discovered along the way creative processing algorithms based on simple concepts of physics, optics, and electromagnetism and many meaningful innovations about how to implement better hardware and IT infrastructure for real-time processing, innovations that we are still preciously hiding while working on them. You may hear one of them that will completely redefine how real-time social media applications should be hosted because as we were working on processing pictures, we knew that servicing these pictures through a feed was important and Instagram-like apps showed us that we were right in thinking that and working on that. This led Gif…… to this Architecture redefining infrastructure for real-time social media whether the underlying social media is picture based or not.
While others were exploiting deep machine learning algorithms and blindly getting and processing petabytes of features, we knew and acknowledged the importance of deep machine learning in our future but worked on custom algorithms that fit our first commitment of using pictures as our only and primary input stream. We are today happy to get meaningful results in this direction that gives an edge when coupled with deep machine learning algorithms even if we are actually a financially failing and not still registered organization called Gif…… which figured out interesting solutions that could turn into multiple figures revenues stream and even more than these successful streaming companies and startups like Netflix or curiosityStream and we did all of these armed with rightly oriented curiosity.
There is no tech player out of our way because you could imagine that Amazon and Ecommerce have nothing to do with what we are doing at Gif…… but actually, the title of this article, what’s inside these Six dots of Gif……?, hides an interesting coming e-commerce experience still about pictures that use this same question in this other format that is What’s inside the box, a new way of shopping things.
Needless to say that as long as we aren’t actually partnering with any tech companies then all tech companies and startups big and small are our competitors but we, at Gif…… have a better meaning of the word and concept of competition that is more beneficial to an organizational unit and more useful for the world and society because it gets us to do things while having differing opinions, tastes, and views and help us better handle diversity in all possible forms. Recall that investing in something when you don't know where it is heading can be called betting but this could also be an investment portfolio diversification tool if used sparingly.
