From futurist writer to professional feature writer
I have been saying in my past articles how bloggers and writers have been writing about what we ended living months, years, and decades after and how meaningful is the content of past blogs concerning this perspective of trying to guess what will happen next. I had expressed the need to dig into old internet content mostly held by the Internet Archive organization, a nonprofit that any one of us should support because what they are trying to achieve is useful for the world and allows us to explore the archived web for spotting the content that holds stories that described what happened after they have been published making them clear true predictions that could be interesting features for machine learning system about guessing the future.
A few months ago I was listening to PivotPod and heard Kara Swisher highlighting how someone was right about what’s happening now while he was writing about it three years ago. This reminded me that there are people who have this skill of predicting what could happen and made me witness the possibility of a large language model or let’s say an AI guessing what could happen next through the medium of written stories. This AI that is able to guess what will happen next in a given field of interest could be a realistic goal as most of our social and economic behaviors embed some part of repetitions, patterns that a probabilistic model could spot.
This AI guessing the future may make this guess that is about a future AI bubble that will be like the Dotcom bubble. I have been thinking about a possible AI bubble like the DotCom bubble and have been trying to collate data and write about this. it seemed to me that if one looks through the lens of the theory behind the binomial distributions, one can tell that there is a possibility of an AI bubble at Horizon 2025 and further. Added to that is the fact that a part of my mind tells me that there is an important part of capital invested in crypto that tries to escape the hands of crypto entrepreneurs to land in the hands of AI entrepreneurs which could make crypto startup failures occur before this possible AI bubble I am writing about. But this doesn’t mean that AI will not last. AI will last and will be an important part of our everyday lives and work for sure. it already does. The fact is that I am seeing many failures on the horizon and about that one could say as usual because any kind of new technology adoption is made of startups and companies failing in front of the required change.
It is not opportunistic for an entrepreneur like me looking for VC money to talk about such kind of things that could make investors fear and not invest in AI startups but I am just sharing what I have been trying to think about during this last month and know that I am walking on unknown territories, a part of the future that is not unfolded. I am then better to stop talking about that and to tell more about this LLM who writes stories about what could happen next. if we take this AI predictor in its simplest form (let’s say the MVP) it could be this AI that could tell what will happen in the next episodes of your prime-time screenplay that you watched hours before on Netflix or another video streaming platform like ….. I think this is easier than trying to predict what will happen in real life and could be a first step. Giving this example of This AI that predicts what will happen in the next episode of a screenplay I reminded this Documentary Fan AI that I have been writing about. These two AI systems could be paired to provide interesting digital experiences about Entertainment like a game about telling if the AI will be wrong or right with the possibility to bet on the best AI predictors.
Please don't let my words bout this AI bubble make you afraid of it. AI is a powerful thing like personal computers, the internet, and smartphones. AI is a piece of technology that will make many changes happen and almost every change involves a redistribution of power and status. I hope AI will help heal people's pains through healthcare because without health any stake of power or status becomes unmeaningful to the one who holds it. Believe that you could be part of those who will get status and power from this future made of AI and use them to spread peace and love all over the world. If this AI that guesses the future happens to be built I hope that it will always predict a peaceful and prosperous future world.
