404 pages are bad for us

Why aren’t search engines and all these startups and companies in touch with websites owners or owning one inciting them to scan and fix broken links in their websites? We still get broken links in pages suggested by a search engine. We should not only focus on volume skipping quality.
Scanning books right now, will soon scan websites for finding broken links and trying hard to fix them for fun and for the environment.
